How to Use WhatsApp on Google Chrome Browser?

WhatsApp Messenger is one of the best chat messengers for smartphones and the app supports almost all the mobile operating systems like Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone OS, Symbian and even runs on Java mobile phones. But if you use Google Chrome web browser on your computer then there is a simple method that you can follow to use WhatsApp on Google Chrome.

In this article, we are going to share a very simple and official method to use WhatsApp on Google Chrome. All you need to have is an Internet connection and the app installed on your smartphone and you will be able to use it on your computer as well.

What is WhatsApp Web?

WhatsApp officially launched a new service called WhatsApp Web using which you can connect your account from your mobile phone to the computer and use the app on Google Chrome.

This is a really simple method and all you have to do is just scan the barcode with your mobile and the service will automatically sync all your contacts and conversations and give you a chance to chat from your computer.

However you should not that these method doesn’t work with iOS smartphones yet but it’s expected that this will be taken care of in the future.

Steps to Use WhatsApp on Google Chrome with Web version

Before starting to use the application, you need to make sure that the application installed on your smartphone is WhatsApp version 2.11.498 or above because only then you will see the WhatsApp Web feature in the application.

If the application is not updated then you need to update it right now using Google Play Store on your smartphone. If you have the latest version installed then let’s get started with the steps.

Step 1: First of all, go to web.whatsapp.com on the Chrome browser and you will see a QR code on your computer screen like the one in the image below.

Step 2:
 Next, open WhatsApp in your smartphone and from the options panel, choose WhatsApp Web feature and then align your phone’s camera with the QR code on your computer screen to scan the code.

Step 3: Once the code is scanned, the sync process will begin and all your conversations and contacts will be synced with the web version. You will then see all your chat conversations on your computer screen and you can now chat with your friends from Google Chrome.

If you want to receive notification whenever you receive a message then you can enable desktop notification from WhatsApp Web so that you receive a notification whenever you receive a message.

Note: When you use your smartphone to sync the data between your mobile phone and the web version, use WiFi connection because it will cost you a lot of mobile data.
